Body sugaring is an All-natural, Organic, modernised and effective form of hair removal based on a traditional, oriental technique that was rediscovered. It is one of the most ancient forms of hair removal. Discovered in Egypt during the Cleopatra Era it has become quite popular in Europe and the USA but it is progressively making its way into South Africa.

Sugaring is done by using sugar paste; the pastes are purchased in three different consistencies in order to ensure the treatment is done correctly. Although it is a wax-like consistency, it does not have the sticky resins, chemicals, preservatives & dyes that wax contains. We should try to go organic wherever possible, as it is so much better for the environment as well as our health. The paste is a 100% natural product, containing only: Sugar, Water & Lemon. The Sugar Pastes and products used by Candyfloss Sugaring Boutique are Eco-Friendly, Vegan and Cruelty Free.

I recommend these products, as I know what works in conjunction with the sugar paste & I want to ensure an ingrown free sugaring journey, therefore it’s of utmost importance to follow all instructions and it is definitely beneficial to use the products recommended by me, as I went through a terrible waxing experience myself. It caused my skin ,my confidence and my emotions a lot of trauma. For this reason, I opened Candyfloss Sugaring Boutique  to ensure this doesn’t happen to any of my clients. I am passionate about producing the best hair removal treatment for every client and take the time and effort with every person that walks through my door. By doing this, I am sure that every single one of you ladies will be back with a smile and comfortable with your surroundings.Sugaring is gentle to the skin, leaving it silky smooth and hair free for longer.

Candyfloss Sugaring Boutique is independently owned and would like to inspire women to be comfortable in their skin.  I am fully prepared to offer the best quality sugaring services & products to delight your needs and keep you smooth, bump free & hair free. What more could a woman want?

Sugaring and Waxing are very different. It will cost you more but it is better for your skin and you will definitely return for this specific treatment. It  can sometimes take longer to do the treatment but it is definitely more effective. The sugar paste can only pick up dead skin cells, resulting in fresh, exfoliated skin; whereas waxing adheres to live skin cells, which often leaves the skin burned, irritated & scabbing- definitely not my 1st choice!

Most of Candyfloss Sugaring Boutique clients get sugared because they have had bad ingrowns due to waxing and as we all know it involves intimate areas. Having ingrowns can be very painful and difficult to extract. Healing is a lengthy process & not to mention the embarrassment for some, especially in the bikini area – Ouch!

Therefore, it’s better for me to offer you a product that won’t cause this problem because the sugar paste seeps deep into the hair follicles and removes the hair from the actual root, effectively. This makes Sugaring the most preferred method of hair removal because it is an excellent product and can be even better when maintained with the aftercare products recommended by Candyfloss Sugaring Boutique.

If the technique is done poorly, hair breakage & irritation to the skin is possible. There are specific areas on the body that we need to be mindful about.

If after care isn’t followed correctly, skin infections and ingrowns are a possibility. It is important to follow our aftercare advice to benefit your sugaring treatment.

If you experience a different smell, it is usually due to infection and should be checked by your gynecologist.  It is very rare that it is a cleanliness issue however; when you book for an intimate sugaring session you may request for a fragrance free cleansing wet wipe which will allow you to freshen up & feel comfortable.

Hair is simple in structure. It has three phases of growth.

    1. The Anagen phase (growth phase) most hair spends several years in this phase.
    2. The Catagen phase (transitional phase) over a few weeks hair growth slows and the follicle shrinks (it is good to get your client in at this stage to maximize sugaring benefits).
    3. The Telogen phase (resting phase) over month’s hair growth stops and the old hair detaches itself and a new hair starts to grow.

I would recommend that you space your bookings out three weeks apart so that you can sugar the hair in the correct phase (to allow the follicle to shrink and lead to permanency quicker) if the client permits. Otherwise, every 4 weeks whenever your budget allows. Hair growth is different for every person and it is unique. However, we can rather sum it up after the first few treatments and then you can book accordingly. The average rate is around one half inch per month.
